Simuflight offers a comprehensive Turbine Instructor Endorsement program designed for instructors who wish to take their aviation instructing skills to the next level.
What is a Turbine Instructor Endorsement?
It authorises an instructor to teach and train pilots towards obtaining type ratings and endorsements on high performance aircraft powered by turbine engines as opposed to piston powered aircraft. At Simuflight, our program ensures that candidates not only meet regulatory requirements but also augment their practical teaching skills, safety knowledge, and confidence as instructors.

Eligibility Requirements
NOTE
- This is a “single crew” course
- Allocated training time is the minimum that a single student will require to meet the SACAR & SACATS requirement.
- Candidate will receive the full B190 course Kit as is issued to Simuflight B190 Students
HOURS
Student must have:
- GR II Instructor’s rating
- Min 500hrs Instruction
- Min 200hrs PIC Multi-Engine Turboprop
- Min 100hrs on Type, similar type or
THEORY
Student must either:
- Be the Holder of an ATPL
- Hold a frozen ATPL
- Have completed and passed the Turboprop/Turbojet Theory Exam at SACAA
Course Layout
BRIEFINGS
- 7hrs Total (To be conducted by a qualified instructor)

- 3hrs – Technical & General
- 5hrs – Systems & Flight briefing (Before Simulator Session)
- 5hrs- Systems & Flight briefing (Before Simulator Session)
- 0hrs – For de-brief etc.
- 5 hrs Total (To be conducted by an Applicant Instructor)

- 4hrs – Technical & General and Systems
- 1hrs – Flight Briefing (Before Simulator Session)
THEORY EXAMS
Applicant Instructor must pass the following Theory Exams before continuing with simulator training:
- Technical Exam (Open Book)
- Performance Exam (Open Book)
- Emergency Recall Exam (Closed Book)
SIMULATOR TRAINING
Applicant Instructor seated in the R/H seat.
- 4hrs Total (All training conducted on FNPT II simulator)
- 2hrs – Normal Procedures
- 2hrs – Emergency & Non-normal Procedures
SKILLS TEST
Applicant Instructor will patter the DFE from the R/H seat on the level D simulator or aircraft.
- 0hrs Briefing
- 0 hrs Flight Test
- DFE to demonstrate various scenario that applicant instructor may encounter during instruction on the aircraft / level D simulator.
- DFE to assess applicant instructor’s ability to patter and fly the aircraft from the R/H seat
